The important and still evolving subject of elastohydrodynamic lubrication is treated in some detail, both at its fundamentals as well as its applications in thin shell or overlay bearings, cam-followers and internal combustion engine pistons. The fundamentals of biotribology are also covered, particularly its applications to endo-articular mammalian joints such as hip and knee joints and their arthroplasty. In addition there is a treatment of the rapidly emerging knowledge of tribological phenomena in lightly-loaded vanishing conjunctions (nanotribology) in natural systems and very small devices such as MEMS and high density data storage media.

This book targets the undergraduate and postgraduate body as well as engineering professionals in industry, where often a quick solution or understanding of certain tribological phenomenon is sought. This book was not written by Charles Taze Russell, although it does contain a lot of quotes from Russell. It also contains much that Russell did not teach, and I am sure, that he would not have approved. The true authors of the book were Clayton J. Woodworth and George Fisher, and edited by Joseph Rutherford.

The book is significant as a historical background of the Jehovah's Witnesses as well as the Bible Students; eventually, the vast majority of the Bible Students who had been associated with Russell did not accept the unique claims of The Finished Mystery.

Bible Students to this day only attribute six volumes of "The Studies in the Scriptures" to Charles Taze Russell.The Divine Plan of the Ages (Studies in the Scriptures, Volume 1)

Mrs. Little even fashions him a suit, because baby clothes would obviously be unsuitable for such a sophisticated mouse. In return, Stuart helps his tall family with errant Ping-Pong balls that roll outside of their reach.

Great beginning, but...

...it tapers off into tedium.
I loved reading this with my kids, especially the beginning, but once Stewart left home in the little car the story really dried up and the kids lost interest. Me, too.

About the Author
Professor Laurel A. Vietzen has been coordinator of the ABA-approved paralegal program at Elgin Community College since it began in 1989.; She received her BA in Journalism from Purdue University and her JD from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Prior to starting her current position at Elgin Community College, Professor Vietzen practiced transactional law with the Chicago firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal and the suburban firm Bean & Spencer and taught Lawyering Skills at John Marshall Law School in Chicago.; She is coordinator of the Contributor to Planning & Environmental Law journal, monthly since 1985.

Elder Law

I choose this rating for the simple reason that the book is well organized. filled with exhibits of sample forms from different states, and gets to the heart of the matter. The exercises focus your attention and are a good supplement to the more formal class setting. I have also found the constant references to the internet websites very useful in researching various areas of Elder Law. The cases chosen are an added benefit.

We are giving this book a trial run in our class but from my perspective it is a keeper, and is likely to be used by other classes in the future, I would certainly recommend it.

I have always had dreams and wondered what it meant. This book teaches you brief history of dream interpretation and the understanding of how and why of dreaming. This book explains why it is so important to listen to inner voice and also explains the meaning of dreams through the power of dream interpretation. This book was definitly an interesting read!

It Didn't Put Me To Sleep!

The author explains the stages of sleep that are well documented from research. They seem to be consistent with what I have read before. There are many books about interpretation of dreams that go into much greater detail, but this one gives you an idea of what particular dreams might mean. I am not convinced that anyone knows for sure. I found the book interesting because I am fascinated with the subject. I didn't love it but I liked it.

Engaging and fun, with a few flaws

Like all DK Eyewitness travel books this one is packed with nice photographs to illustrate the pages and make it fun to read. I was looking for a review book as well as an introductory guide for my wife that would be more interesting than a plain text phrasebook, and it qualifies well.

The flaw that I have noted, (and is presumably corrected if you have the version with the 2 CDs), is that the pronunciation guides (phonetic examples) are written using UK English, rather than American English. So "raucher" (smoking) is given as "row-kher". Because we pronounce "row" differently from the English (rhymes with cow), this is a problem. I have not seen many cases of this, but there may be others.

About the Author

William O’Grady received his Ph.D. in linguistics at the University of Chicago and taught at the University of Calgary for twelve years before taking up his current position as professor of linguistics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He is well known for his work on syntax, Korean, first language acquisition, and second language learning.

John Archibald is Dean of Humanities and Professor of Linguistics at the University of Victoria.�Prior to moving to Victoria, he was at the University of Calgary for 19 years. He specializes in the study of Second Language Acquisition, and is co-editor of the journal Second Language Research.
