Review
"In the face of rapidly shifting international alignments and new sources of conflict, geopolitics has never been more relevant. Yet the term is vague and its varying meanings little understood. Flint’s book steps into this void, offering a wide-ranging, thought-provoking, and accessible overview of the subject. The book is conceptually grounded, but rooted in a rich array of well explained real-world examples. Flint has written are remarkably lucid, insightful introduction to a key concept of our day." Alexander B. Murphy, University of Oregon
"Flint situates geopolitics within wider debates in contemporary human geography to provide a vibrant account illustrated throughout with accessible and thought-provoking examples." Dr Joanne Sharp, University of Glasgow

The best undergraduate book on geopolitics ever written [period]
By Geographer
This is simply the clearest, least patronizing, most visually stimulating, and all around complete book written on modern geopolitics for undergraduate students. Unlike most textbooks dealing with this topic which suffer from a variety of ailments including, making an exciting topic exceedingly sterile and boring; taking everyday examples of geopolitics and writing esoterically about them, and not using enough graphics to explain what they are speaking about -- this book has great, clear graphics, is clear and uses everyday examples to make its points, has suggested exercises embedded in the text so students think about things critically as they read, and is a fascinating all around read. My students have loved it at the two universities I have used it to teach at now! I highly recommend it over Agnew's "Reenvisioning Geopolitics," which though is also an informative book, has put my undergraduate students into a coma they never came out of. Colin Flint's first solo textbook (he coauthors another with PJ Taylor) is a gem! I can't wait for his sophomore effort!!!
