Isidore Isaac Hirschman, Jr. (1922–90) was a Professor of Mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis. Dover also publishes a book he co-authored with David V. Widder, The Convolution Transform.

Need some previous introduction to sequences/series

To read it and understand some of it, you will need already an introduction to sequences and series. I used a pre-calculus book to review sequences and basic series. From there, you are able to read the first chapters. It is an advanced math. book.
