This volume presents the proceedings of the 6th International ICST Conference on Heterogeneous Networking for Quality, Reliability, Security and Robustness and of the Third International ICST Workshop on Advanced Architectures and Algorithms for Internet DElivery and Applications. Both events were held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in November 2009. To each of these events is devoted a specific part of the volume. The first part is dedicated to the proceedings of ICST QShine 2009. The first four chapters deal with new issues concerning the quality of service in IP-based telephony and multimedia. A second set of four chapters addresses some important research problems in mul- hop wireless networks, with a special emphasis on the problems of routing. The following three papers deal with recent advances in the field of data mana- ment and area coverage in sensor networks, while a fourth set of chapters deals with mobility and context-aware services. The fifth set of chapters contains new works in the area of Internet delivery and switching systems. The following chapters of the QShine part of the volume are devoted to papers in the areas of resource management in wireless networks, overlay, P2P and SOA arc- tectures. Some works also deal with the optimization of quality of service and energy consumption in WLAN and sensor networks and on the design of a mobility support in mesh networks.

This book constitutes the proceedings of two conferences: The 6th International ICST Conference on Heterogeneous Networking for Quality, Reliability, Security and Robustness (QShine 2009) and the 3rd International ICST Workshop on Advanced Architectures and Algorithms for Internet DElivery and Applications (AAA-IDWEA 2009).

QShine is a very successfull series of conferences providing an international forum for the discussion and sharing of new research ideas on the design and implementation of Quality of Service (QoS) in heterogeneous wireless and wireline networks. The 19 papers presented at the conference were selected from 40 paper submissions. In addition to this 25 papers from leading researchers working in related fields are presented. The conference is organized in 11 technical sessions covering IP telephony and multimedia, mesh networks, mobility and heterogeneous wireless networks.

AAA-IDEA comprises 7 papers that cover a variety of topics such as architectures and algorithms for content and service delivery, energy-aware networks, QoE in media streaming as well as support for mobile and wireless systems.

About the Author
V. Gregory Payne is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at San Jose State University, where he specializes in human motor development with interests ranging from aging and physical activity to children's sports and fitness. He received a B.S. degree from Western Illinois University and that institution's Distinguished Alumni Award. He earned an M.A. from the University of Iowa and a P.E.D. from Indiana University. After receiving the B.S. degree, Dr. Payne lived and worked in Venezuela for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer assigned to the Venezuelan Ministry of Education. Since that time he has produced over 150 publications including numerous refereed articles and fourteen editions of four books. In 2000, Dr. Payne was elected to fellowship in the prestigious Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education (AAKPE), generally regarded to be the top tier of leaders in the discipline who have made long-term contributions primarily through scholarship. He was also a member of the task force that developed the physical education national standards published in 1995, as well as a member of the 2004 California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Task Force on Childhood Obesity, Type II Diabetes, and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Payne has made over 250 presentations at state, national, and international conferences. He was the first Distinguished Honorary Professor of the Shenyang Institute of Physical Education in China, received the Distinguished Service Award from the California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the Southwest District AAHPERD Scholar Award, and the AAHPERD Honor Award. He has been nominated several times for the Outstanding Professor and President's Scholar Awards at San Jose State University and received the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport Research Writing Award for work involving children's physical activity and VO2 max. Dr. Payne is a former President of the 22,000 member National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE); former Chair of the National Motor Development Academy of AAHPERD, and former President of the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (CAHPERD). He was presented CAHPERD’s 2004 Verne Landreth Award, exemplifying the highest achievement in service, research, teaching, and administration, and was the 2004 SJSU Nominee for the California State University Wang Family Excellence Award for extraordinary commitment and dedication, distinction by exemplary contributions, and achievement in the academic discipline. He is a Fellow of the Research Consortium of AAHPERD, has chaired two editorial boards and has reviewed for journals including Journal of Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, International Journal of Sports Medicine, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sports, Gerontology, Strategies, Women in Sport and Physical Activity Journal, and Medicine, Exercise, Nutrition, and Health, and Perceptual and Motor Skills.

Larry D. Isaacs is Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Exercise Biology Program, Department of Biological Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics at Wright State University. Since receiving his doctorate in 1979 from the University of Maryland, Dr. Isaacs has served as a reviewer for many scholarly journals. In addition, he has published numerous scholarly articles and has written sixteen textbooks. Over the past thirty-five years, his writings have been recognized by many organizations, including the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, where he was awarded the status of Fellow by the Research Consortium. Dr. Isaacs holds international certifications with the American College of Sports Medicine. Currently his research is examining the physiological changes that accompany aerobic exercise and resistance training in cardiac rehabilitation patients. Since retirement from the university, Dr. Isaacs has returned to part-time employment and serves as a clinical exercise physiologist at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center. Dr. Isaacs currently lives on Hilton Head Island with his wife Joy. His daughter, Brooke, and son, Timothy, both attend the University of South Carolina – Beaufort Campus and also live on Hilton Head Island.

This book does a wonderful job at explaining human motor development throughout the lifespan. Beginning in fetal development and ranging through adulthood, this book goes into detail about the human motor development! Very useful for anyone exploring this topic!

It's got some cool pictures for the stages of fundamental movement patterns. This book is very informative, yet I had to buy this for one of my classes in college. However, this wasn't a horrible read.

No Fluff Shop Math Book

If you want a meat and potatoes book on Shop Math this is it. Although there are only answers for odd numbered questions, it is a self teaching book that anyone can use. It assumes no math knowledge and starts with arthmetic to algebra, geometry, trigonometry. Every math problem is a shop problem. I went through college math and calculus, etc. and it does not apply to practical shop problems for the most part. This book skips that. It also has ruler scale reading,calipers, micrometers and angle plates and sine bar calculations with gear proportions for mill belt and gear ratios. It has speed and feed calculations and most of all has tables in the back of the book for conversions, charts, threads, etc. Im most cases you can skip right to the shop problem you need to do. It also has allowances and tolerances too. Basic but essential and to the point. A no Fluff book. Good for home machinists and shop machinists who are skilled but not math savvy. A good trade school shop primer. In abour one week of reading the whole book, you can be up to speed. A handy shop reference too with many easy to see diagrams and explanations in plain english.

Good basic shop math. PROs - practical exercises and relatively easy to follow. Cons - only odd numbered problems have answers. This can be frustrating. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but I would shop around first.

I think I expected much more from this book. It did not flow, it was as if jumbled thoughts were just put down on paper.Someof the chapters were good, but the others were rather random....It was not a " WOW " factor for me. Sorry read better Autobiography's.

This is an easy book to learn AutoCAD, I got the Kindle version and the only problem is that doesnot have the pages number's, but aside from that is easy to read and follow.

Can't Miss!

As beginning how to books go, not bad. The layout and organization of the information presented is easy to follow. I especially like the added element of drawing exercises for you to practice on. These books are not page turners so yes you have to focus and not let your mind wander. The book functions well as a place to look up commands or what you need to do for specific task or setup. The Kindle format is the best to buy. Of course if you want a physical copy that's what you should get. But for the immediate access from the download, and the cheaper cost the Kindle version gets my vote.

Extremely basic

I bought this just as a refresher since I haven't used autocad in a few years. It is really for someone who has never used the program before. It was a little too basic for me, however, it could come in handy for some things. It would probably be the same to just google your questions though. If you've never used autocad before, this will be great for you. If you know how to use it, this book might be a waste of your money.
